Old resolution
It was decided to give the benefit of 10 percent reservation to the category of Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) by the resolution of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The rules for the Eligibility Test for Primary Teachers were laid down by a resolution of the Education Department. In the issue of the resolution, it was decided that ‘in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Socially and Educationally Backward and Handicapped, the Teacher Eligibility Test shall be passed with 55% marks’.
In view of the resolution of the State Examination Board on the present matter, it was proposed to give a percentage benefit to the EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) category. The matter was under the consideration of Govt.
TET Passing Marks for EWS
New resolution:
At the end of due consideration, the category of “Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)” is included in the provision of the resolution dated 27-04-2011 of the Education Department as per No. (3) read by the Department.
Therefore, the said provision number ‘3(a)’ has to be read as follows:
- “In case of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Socially and Educationally Backward, Handicapped and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates, the Teacher Eligibility Test must be passed with 55% marks”
- The other details of the resolution numbered (3) dated 27-04-2011 taken on reading this section and the amendment resolutions from time to time shall remain unchanged.
- This order is published vide Government’s note dated 13-12-2022 on a file of the same number of this department.
